Amritsar Grenade Attack – Latest updates : ISI under suspision
The Amritsar grenade attack was a recent terrorist attack suffered Amritsar. The attack was linked to religious motives and ties. The Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh showed proof of Pakistani link to the Amritsar blast. He also announced the arrest of one accused involved in the attack.
The arrested accused has been identified as Bikhramjit Singh. He is 26- years old. The police have also recovered the motorcycle used in the attack.
While briefing the media about the latest developments, Amarinder blamed Pakistan’s Inter- Services Intelligence for fomenting trouble in the state of Punjab.
The Chief Minister also said that the second accused involved in the attack has also been identified. Efforts are in full swing in order to apprehend him as well.
He commended the security forces for their quick action. He also clarified that the Amritsar grenade attack was a “pure terrorist attack” and there was no religious angle to the incident.
Amarinder said, “We have busted 17 modules, 81 people have been arrested. 77 arms have been seized, in addition to IEDs, grenades, etc … our forces are always one step ahead of them (terrorists).
He displayed the picture of the grenade that was used in the attack. He said that the blast carries ISI’s signature.
He said, “This is the type of grenade which has been taken from other modules. This is the one being used against forces in Kashmir. This one is made under license Pakistan ordnance factory and is filled with pellets.”
He added, “The ISI has been very active. You will now find the activity moving south. We will have to be on our guard … won’t let acts of terror happen in our country.”
Striking similarities have been found between the Amritsar grenade attack and the allegedly ISI-backed Patiala case earlier.
